The Supergun system is designed to allow a high pressure pipeline descaling hose to be inserted into a vessel or pipeline whilst it is under pressure.

The system has been used to descale produced water headers whilst still in production to remove restrictions or blockages.

The system incorporates a labyrinth seal and compressible PTFE woven packings. When assembled the four sets packings are compressed against the outer casing of the hose giving a 98% sealing face.

To avoid any leakage of either gas or production fluids two connection points are provided to inject clean sea or potable water at a higher pressure than that in the host pipe or vessel, this creates a water blanket which holds back any unwanted fluids or gas.

This system has performed on pipelines up to 1.5 bar with the rotational Aquadril descaling system and up to 50 bar with the ridged insertion system used to insert hoses into production vessel.
